Getting Started

Your first event, your first invite, your first Poppy session.

What is WhatAreWeWearing?

WhatAreWeWearing is a social fashion app built for the moments you actually get dressed for — bachelorettes, beach weekends, rooftop dinners, weddings, and every group trip in between.

You create a private event, invite your group, set the vibe with a shared mood board, and then chat with Poppy, our AI stylist, to get outfit picks from real brands that match the occasion, your size, and your budget.

Is it free?

Yes — the core app is completely free. Create events, invite friends, build mood boards, and use Poppy for styling at no cost. We earn a small affiliate commission when you buy something Poppy recommends, but pricing is the same for you whether you find the item through us or directly on the brand's site.

How do I create my first event?

Open the app, tap "+ Create Event" on your account screen, then:

  • Name the event (e.g. "Mia's Bachelorette")
  • Set the date and location
  • Add a mood board — pick one of our curated boards or upload your own inspo
  • Invite your group via shareable link

That's it. Everyone you invite joins the same private space.

I was invited to an event — what now?

Tap the invite link to open WhatAreWeWearing. You'll be prompted to create a free account, then dropped straight into the event. From there, you can see the mood board, post your own inspo, and run a Poppy styling session for that specific event's vibe.

Poppy AI

Your private AI stylist. What she does, what she doesn't, and how to get the best out of her.

What is Poppy and how does she work?

Poppy is the AI stylist built into WhatAreWeWearing. You tell her the occasion, your size, aesthetic, and budget, and she returns a styled outfit — typically a dress or top, a shoe, and an accessory — pulled from real brands like Reformation, Sézane, Free People, and more.

Under the hood, Poppy is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. Your styling inputs are sent to Claude to generate the recommendations, then returned to you in the app.

How do I get better picks from Poppy?

The more specific you are, the better Poppy gets. Try including:

  • The exact vibe ("coastal grandmother," "y2k club," "quiet luxury")
  • Brands you already love (helps Poppy match your taste)
  • What you don't want ("no heels," "no white," "no sequins")
  • The dress code ("cocktail," "smart casual," "swimwear-to-lunch")

Poppy also uses your event's mood board as a brief — so a strong, curated mood board → stronger picks.

Why is an item Poppy recommended out of stock or unavailable?

Poppy's picks come from a wide catalog of brand partners, and inventory at those brands changes constantly. We don't guarantee any specific item will be in stock, in your size, or available in your region. If something is unavailable, just ask Poppy for an alternative — she'll surface a similar piece.

Does Poppy save my style profile?

Yes. Your saved aesthetic, size, and brand preferences are stored on your profile so you don't have to re-enter them every session. You can update them anytime under Account → Style Profile.

Events & Groups

Inviting people, managing the feed, and keeping the group on the same page.

Who can see my event?

Only people you invite. Every event in WhatAreWeWearing is private by default — there is no public feed, no discoverability, no algorithm. If you don't share the invite link, no one outside the group can find or join the event.

How do I remove someone from an event?

If you created the event (or were added as an admin), open the event, tap the guest list, then long-press the person's name to remove them. They'll lose access to the event feed and mood board immediately.

Can I be in multiple events at once?

Of course. You can host or join as many events as you want — they all live on your account screen. Each event keeps its own mood board, feed, and Poppy session history separate.

Can I share an outfit pick with the group?

Yes. When Poppy gives you a pick, tap the share icon and choose which event to post it to. It appears in that event's feed with your name, so no one else picks the same dress.

Account & Privacy

Settings, security, deleting your account, and the data we do and don't keep.

How do I update my profile or style preferences?

Tap your profile photo in the top right of the app, then Edit Profile. You can update your name, photo, Instagram/TikTok handles, aesthetic description, and saved style preferences.

How do I delete my account?

Email us at caitlin@getwww.app from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We'll permanently delete your account and all associated data (events you created, your style profile, your saved picks) within 7 days and confirm by email when it's done.

What data does WhatAreWeWearing collect?

The short version: your account info, the events and content you create, your style preferences, and basic app usage data. We never sell your personal information.

How do I report a bug or inappropriate content?

Email caitlin@getwww.app with a screenshot and a short description, or use our contact form. We respond within one business day.

iOS & Platform

App Store availability, devices, and what's next on the roadmap.

When does the iOS app launch?

We're in the final stretch of App Store review. Join the waitlist on the landing page and we'll send you the App Store link the moment we go live, plus early invites for new features.

Will there be an Android version?

Yes — Android is on the roadmap, planned after iOS launches and stabilizes. The web app at getwww.app/app works on any modern mobile browser in the meantime.

Can I use WhatAreWeWearing on desktop?

The app is designed mobile-first, but the web version works in any modern desktop browser too. The native iOS app will be the most polished experience.
